THE HANDSTAND

SEPTEMBER 2003

TENOR MAN.
Tenor-man...
way-he
hold his horn
we knew
he came
to heat that metal,
to blow
some bluues
that night.
he-could blow too.
iiii's closed
to a diminished slit,
sheltered from a
smoke whirled room,
jaaws puffed up,
hands holding
tenor gold
for aulll it was worth.
WeEeeEeeeeeeeEeeeeeEeeeeeeee
on into the night
he blew.
