Subject: MR. SILIS MUHAMMAD'S LETTER TO THE GRASSROOTS (March 2004)
Sun, 28 Mar 2004 09:18:45 -0500 (EST)
I have just returned from the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. With the help of some human rights experts, we have been uniting with our Brothers and Sisters in Latin America and forging the way to Reparations for all of us who have come up from slavery.

During this trip to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, I saw that we cannot just sashay into the U.N. and hope to gain our freedom with just words.  The experts there have been fighting for us since the first time we came to them some twelve years ago.  They have fought for us against the American government and other governments, and they are doing all they can do.  We have won the word battle and now the battle has escalated.  Governments have begun to hold back money because we have gained so much ground.  The experts have made plans for a U.N. seminar for us, the Afrodescendants, in Brazil.  This seminar is what we prayed for the U.N. to do and they are willing to do it, but there is no money to pay for it.  I have pledged $30,000 of the $60,000 it will take to pull off the seminar.

Men who desire their freedom either fight and bleed and die with a gun or they fight and bleed with money.  The experts are looking at us and saying, "Are you going to battle or not?"  We have to use either a gun or money.  Now it is time for us to put up or shut up.  The U.N. has come to me for help and I have pledged money to the U.N. to pay half of the cost of this seminar.  Will you help me fight this battle?

A Man

Mr. Silis Muhammad is the Chairman of AFRE, All For Reparations And Emancipation (
http://www.AllForReparations.org).  His interventions before diverse U.N. bodies, including the Human Rights Commission, have documented in detail how long-term and current U.S. government policies of ethnocide and forced assimilation against our people blatantly violate U.N. Covenants.  To learn how you can make the upcoming seminar in Brazil a reality, please visit our

concern that Syria is being targetted:

........Gary Leupp is Professor of History at Tufts University, and Adjunct Professor of Comparative Religion..............

Let us say Perle's dream comes true and the Israeli air force does attack pro-Hamas Syria. Let's say it does so big-time, Sharon-style, and does major damage. Enough to cause enough disorder for the U.S. to argue that a deteriorating situation requires international intervention. The Iraq attack required months of preparation, but intervention in Syria will happen very quickly, coming like a thief in the night as it did in Haiti. Perle has suggested that there are troops to spare in Iraq that can occupy "weak" Syria in short order. Even if Israeli action provides the context, Israeli forces won't be needed, and U.S. action will be lent some thin international legitimacy if a few hundred "coalition" troops participate. Thus a second Arab nation will become Americanizedly "free," while Palestinians infuriated by these events will commit acts that will justify the "ethnic cleansing" of the West Bank.

I truly hope my imagination has gotten the better of me, that I am a false prophet, and that what I describe will not come to pass.

Hands off Syria!

A sudden concern for the Palestinian child - By Gideon Levy
The hundreds of children who have been killed, the thousands who have been crippled, and the hundreds of thousands who live under conditions of siege and poverty, and are exposed every day to violence and humiliation - all this has failed to move the Israeli public. Just the child with the belt.

Ahmed Yassin
His authority, his senior position in the movement and his influence on its members derived from a combination of his cumulative experience, his personality, the successes of all the social and political projects he initiated, his personal sacrifices, the personal example he gave, the way he dealt with his handicap and his relationship with people.

About 300 physically disabled Sudanese, rolling on wheelchairs or walking with crutches, marched five city blocks Sunday in a demonstration against Israel's assassination of Palestinian leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin.

JUST IN CASE WE HAVE ANY ILLUSIONS ABOUT JOHN KERR'S DEMOCRATS.....
Representative Gary Ackerman (D-NY) led a group of nineteen Democrats [among them 11 Jews]this week in writing to President Bush to express their dismay at White House criticism of Israel's actions. The Democratic members writeMarch 23, 2004

       The President
       The White House
       Washington, DC

       Dear Mr. President:

We call on you to immediately repudiate the statement made yesterday by your spokesman, Scott McClellan that "the United States is deeply troubled by this morning's action in Gaza." That your spokesman would condemn Israel bringing to justice a terrorist thug at the same time U.S. forces are in the field hunting down terrorist leaders is incomprehensible.

Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was a barbaric terrorist leader and has deserved for many years the fate he met yesterday. HAMAS, a terrorist group designated by the State Department, has been an active enemy of United States diplomacy for more than a decade and the demise of its one of its top leaders should certainly not be condemned. HAMAS has actively sought the collapse of the peace process, remains fervently committed to the destruction of the State of Israel, and has proudly declared its responsibility for the deliberate murder of hundreds of Israeli citizens.

For your spokesman to suggest anything other than full support for Israel's action is simply deplorable. Mr. McClellan's statement is intolerable and should be corrected immediately.

       Sincerely,
