DECEMBER 2007

Victory to the people!  All power to the People!  And ON A MOVE!  The picket line and protest held this morning in front of the Today Show at 7 AM in 23 degree weather had a phenomenal turnout!  After 26 years, those who came clearly understood the importance of the case of Mumia
for all of us and for all struggles for justice.  Most important, with our campaign for equal time we did, in fact, get our position onto the show.  Our protest made it onto the screen on several occasions and looked impressive.  The new photographs, which completely challenge the prosecution's version of what happened on December 9, 1981, were played.  A clip from the attorney referring to Mumia being innocent was shown.  The host was regularly reading from the questions and points made in the packets put together by Journalists for Mumia.  And those of us outside knew that we have the power to win as long as we stay committed, principled, united, and militant in our stance.  For days, the cops were threatening to come out in thousands, to attack us, to silence us, and to project their support for cops, the death penalty, and for Daniel Faulkner.  Look at nypd.rant to see what they were talking about.  Exactly seven cops were there to protest and they got no media coverage.
