Paul Revere's Ride
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.
He said to his friend, "If the British march
By land or sea from the town to-night,
Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch
Of the North Church tower as a signal light,--
One if by land, and two if by sea;
And I on the opposite shore will be,
Ready to ride and spread the alarm
Through every Middlesex village and farm,
For the country folk to be up and to arm."
Then he said "Good-night!" and with muffled oar
Silently rowed to the Charlestown shore,
Just as the moon rose over the bay,
Where swinging wide at her moorings lay
The Somerset, British man-of-war;
A phantom ship, with each mast and spar
Across the moon like a prison bar,
And a huge black hulk, that was magnified
By its own reflection in the tide.
Meanwhile, his friend through alley and street
Wanders and watches, with eager ears,
Till in the silence around him he hears
The muster of men at the barrack door,
The sound of arms, and the tramp of feet,
And the measured tread of the grenadiers,
Marching down to their boats on the shore.
Then he climbed the tower of the Old North Church,
By the wooden stairs, with stealthy tread,
To the belfry chamber overhead,
And startled the pigeons from their perch
On the sombre rafters, that round him made
Masses and moving shapes of shade,--
By the trembling ladder, steep and tall,
To the highest window in the wall,
Where he paused to listen and look down
A moment on the roofs of the town
And the moonlight flowing over all.
Beneath, in the churchyard, lay the dead,
In their night encampment on the hill,
Wrapped in silence so deep and still
That he could hear, like a sentinel's tread,
The watchful night-wind, as it went
Creeping along from tent to tent,
And seeming to whisper, "All is well!"
A moment only he feels the spell
Of the place and the hour, and the secret dread
Of the lonely belfry and the dead;
For suddenly all his thoughts are bent
On a shadowy something far away,
Where the river widens to meet the bay,--
A line of black that bends and floats
On the rising tide like a bridge of boats.
Meanwhile, impatient to mount and ride,
Booted and spurred, with a heavy stride
On the opposite shore walked Paul Revere.
Now he patted his horse's side,
Now he gazed at the landscape far and near,
Then, impetuous, stamped the earth,
And turned and tightened his saddle girth;
But mostly he watched with eager search
The belfry tower of the Old North Church,
As it rose above the graves on the hill,
Lonely and spectral and sombre and still.
And lo! as he looks, on the belfry's height
A glimmer, and then a gleam of light!
He springs to the saddle, the bridle he turns,
But lingers and gazes, till full on his sight
A second lamp in the belfry burns.
A hurry of hoofs in a village street,
A shape in the moonlight, a bulk in the dark,
And beneath, from the pebbles, in passing, a spark
Struck out by a steed flying fearless and fleet;
That was all! And yet, through the gloom and the light,
The fate of a nation was riding that night;
And the spark struck out by that steed, in his flight,
Kindled the land into flame with its heat.
He has left the village and mounted the steep,
And beneath him, tranquil and broad and deep,
Is the Mystic, meeting the ocean tides;
And under the alders that skirt its edge,
Now soft on the sand, now loud on the ledge,
Is heard the tramp of his steed as he rides.
It was twelve by the village clock
When he crossed the bridge into Medford town.
He heard the crowing of the cock,
And the barking of the farmer's dog,
And felt the damp of the river fog,
That rises after the sun goes down.
It was one by the village clock,
When he galloped into Lexington.
He saw the gilded weathercock
Swim in the moonlight as he passed,
And the meeting-house windows, black and bare,
Gaze at him with a spectral glare,
As if they already stood aghast
At the bloody work they would look upon.
It was two by the village clock,
When he came to the bridge in Concord town.
He heard the bleating of the flock,
And the twitter of birds among the trees,
And felt the breath of the morning breeze
Blowing over the meadow brown.
And one was safe and asleep in his bed
Who at the bridge would be first to fall,
Who that day would be lying dead,
Pierced by a British musket ball.
You know the rest. In the books you have read
How the British Regulars fired and fled,---
How the farmers gave them ball for ball,
From behind each fence and farmyard wall,
Chasing the redcoats down the lane,
Then crossing the fields to emerge again
Under the trees at the turn of the road,
And only pausing to fire and load.
So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,---
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo for evermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.

A
Short Word to the World from the Creators of
LetsRoll911!.org
It
can be proven that missiles
were used against the world trade center. It can further
be proven that the World Trade Center was brought down by
controlled demolitions, purposely, with 3000 innocent,
helpless souls inside. With this being the case, it
changes everything for the World, for Afghanistan, for
Iraq, for George Bush, and lastly but not least,
insurance companies involved. This website will save them
billions! It will save United & American Airlines
billions, and help everyone recover losses already paid
out. Not only was 911 pre-planned, but those who did so,
did so with the intention of using this event to defraud
insurance companies out of billions upon billions of
dollars at the same time. Thus making the insurance
claims null and void. I sure would hate to be Larry Silverstein
right now, cause this doesn't look good for him. He
bought the World Trade Center some 90 days before 911
with all sorts of special and now, in hindsight, curious
insurance riders. He bought 2 Asbestos filled 'Golden
Herring' Towers which would cost more to tear down than
to replace. And now, he has the gall to try to make the
insurance companies double pay for the World Trade
Center. Shameless. But with this new development, the
insurance companies can not only stop payment on all 911
claims, but they can now start to recover their huge
losses due to fraud. What will Larry Silverstein settle
for now? Perhaps he knew nothing, one can only hope. It
will be for the investigators of the true official
investigation to figure out. But as of yet, this
investigation hasn't started. The sham 911 commission is
designed to cover this up. The true investigation, in my
opinion, will only be done by those who have the most to
lose. Insurance companies. When they see the Dog and Pony
show that has been leveled against them, they will, and
should rise up in unison and say; "Nope, not a
dime...Let the insiders pay for their handiwork! With the
information here at the site, it should provide the
Insurance companies, with far more than enough reason to
just saying 'no' to another nickel or dime payout. Let
the truth begin and lets leave the falsehoods behind....

Notice in
the high speed version it is impossible to see. It's even
difficult to see in the medium speed version, yet
discernable. Yet it is there. And has been waiting
silently for almost 3 years to become known. Oops, sorry
Afghanistan & Iraq, sorry about the small oversight
there. I guess intelligence agencies aren't what they
used to be. So the question isn't whether or not Saddam
had weapons of mass destruction, or if Usama Bin
Forgotten did this; Neither had any part. The question
now becomes which Americans are the ones responsible for
the inside job of 911, who fitted this special 767 with a
missile pod and missile, and how high does this go in the
Bush Administration? It's no longer a question of what he
knew and when he knew it. It now becomes a question of
what did he plan, and when did he plan it, and who were
his co-conspirators. These videos and pictures imply all
of these questions, and more.

, iraqArmed clashes and exchange of fire
between the coalition forces and the Mehdi army were
reported in and around Najaf after a break down in
negotiations, Al-Arabia television network reported.
An aide of rebel Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr has said
earlier that the US troops are in a position to attack
Najaf "any moment." He warned that an American
attack against Najaf would trigger a massive revolution.
The US had stationed forces outside both Najaf and
Falluja, but their troops were so far held back.

Leader Rantisi Killed
Politics: 17 April 2004, Saturday.
Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi has been killed in an
Israeli helicopter missile strike on his car Saturday
evening, initial reports say.
Two other people were killed in the strike, witnesses
said.
Rantisi was the newly-appointed head of the militant
group in Gaza, following the assassination of Hamas
founder and spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in a
similar Israeli strike last month.
fallujah
CLIP
We've been seeing it with our own eyes. People were told
to leave Fallujah and now there are thousands trapped in
the Desert. There is a 13 km long convoy of people trying
to reach Baghdad. The Americans are firing bombs,
everything, everything they have on them. They are firing
on Families! They are all children, old men and women in
the dessert. Other Iraqi people are trying to help them.
In Fallujah they (Americans) have been bombing hospitals.
Children are being evacuated to Baghdad. There is a child
now, a baby, he had 25 members of his family killed, he's
in the hospital and someone needs to be with him, why
isn't anyone there to stay with him, he just lost 25 from
his family!??? The Americans are dropping cluster bombs
and new mortars, which jump 3-4 metres. They are bombing
from the air. There are people lying dead in the streets.
They said there'd be a ceasefire and then they flew in, I
saw them, and they began to bomb. They are fighting back
and they are fighting well in Fallujah. But we are
expecting the big attack in 24-48 hours. It will be the
main attack. They will be taking the town street by
street and searching and attacking. They did this already
in a village near-by, I forget the name, but they will be
doing this in Fallujah. Please get help, get people to
protest, get them to go to the Embassies, get them out,
get them to do something. There is a massacre. And we
need foreigners, the foreigners can do
something.Paola Gaspiroli:
Deaths of scores of mercenaries not
reported
By Robert Fisk and Patrick Cockburn
April 13 2004: "The Star" Baghdad - At
least 80 foreign mercenaries - security guards recruited
from the United States, Europe and South Africa and
working for American companies - have been killed in the
past eight days in Iraq.Lieutenant-General Mark Kimmitt
admitted on Tuesday that "about 70" American
and other Western troops had died during the Iraqi
insurgency since April 1 but he made no mention of the
mercenaries, apparently fearful that the full total of
Western dead would have serious political fallout. He did
not give a figure for Iraqi dead, which, across the
country may be as high as 900. At least 18 000
mercenaries, many of them tasked to protect US troops and
personnel, are now believed to be in Iraq, some of them
earning $1 000 (about R6 300) a day. But their companies
rarely acknowledge their losses unless - like the four
American murdered and mutilated in Fallujah three weeks
ago - their deaths are already public knowledge.
The presence of such large numbers of mercenaries, first
publicised in The Independent two weeks ago, was bound to
lead to further casualties. But although many of the
heavily armed Western security men are working for the US
Department of Defence - and most of them are former
Special Forces soldiers - they are not listed as serving
military personnel. Their losses can therefore be hidden
from public view. The US authorities in Iraq, however,
are aware that more Western mercenaries lost their lives
in the past week than occupation soldiers over the past
14 days. The coalition has sought to rely on foreign
contract workers to reduce the number of soldiers it uses
as drivers, guards and in other jobs normally carried out
by uniformed soldiers. Often the foreign contract workers
are highly paid former soldiers who are armed with
automatic weapons, leading to Iraqis viewing all foreign
workers as possible mercenaries or spies.

The War, The Draft, Your Future
By Ralph Nader
April 13, 2004
We have been down
this road before.
U.S. troops sent
to war half a world away. American foreign policy
controlled by an arrogant elite, bent on projecting
military power around the globe. A public misled into
supporting an unconstitutional war founded on deceit and
fabrications. As the death toll mounts, we hear claims
that the war is nearly won, that victory is just around
the corner. But victory never arrives. As the public
loses confidence in the government, the government
questions the patriotism of any who express doubt about
the war. When a presidential election arrives, both the
Democrat and Republican nominees embrace the policy of
continued war.
The military draft
comes to dominate the lives of America's young, and vast
numbers who believe the war to be a senseless blunder are
faced with fighting a war they do not believe in, or
facing exile or prison. The year was 1968. Because voters
had no choice that November, the Vietnam War continued
for another six years. Hundreds of thousands of Americans
like you died, were maimed, or suffered from diseases
like malaria. A far greater number of Vietnamese died.
Today, the war is in the quicksands and
alleys of Iraq. Once again, under the pressure of a
determined resistance, we see an American war policy
being slowly torn apart at the seams, while the
candidates urge us to "stay the course" in this
tragic misadventure. Today's Presidential candidates are
not Nixon and Humphrey, they are now Bush and Kerry. Once
again, there is one overriding truth: If war is the only
choice in this election, then war we will have.
Today enlistments
in the Reserves and National Guard are declining. The
Pentagon is quietly recruiting new members to fill local
draft boards, as the machinery for drafting a new
generation of young Americans is being quietly put into
place. Young Americans need to know that a train is
coming, and it could run over their generation in the
same way that the Vietnam War devastated the lives of
those who came of age in the sixties.
.I am running for President,
and have been against this war from the beginning. We
must not waste lives in order to control and waste more
oil. Stand with us and we may yet salvage your future and
Americas' future from this looming disaster.

,
Thousands of Iraqis - from both the Sunni and Shia
communities - marched 60km from Baghdad to Falluja to
bring food and medical supplies to the besieged citizens
there.
The
marchers - carrying colourful flags and banners reading,
"Sons of the great Falluja, we are with you on the
road of jihad and victory" - arrived at the marine
roadblock at the western entrance to the city earlier
today.
After
searching the vehicles for weapons, the marines allowed
two ambulances full of medical supplies, two minibuses
carrying food and a dozen cars with Sunni clerics and
officials to enter the city.
There
was also renewed fighting overnight in the holy city of
Kerbala, south-west of the capital, Baghdad, where Polish
and Bulgarian troops are involved in an operation against
Shia fighters loyal to the radical cleric Moqtada
al-Sadr. Yesterday, Polish forces were reported to have
killed the a senior aide to Mr Sadr who was leading the
Shia fighters in the city.
In
other developments, Iraqi interior minister Nouri Badran,
who is responsible for Iraq's hard-pressed security
forces, announced his resignation today.
Mr
Badran's decision did not appear to be directly related
to the turmoil sweeping the country. According to the
Associated Press, he stepped down at the request of
Iraq's US administrator Paul Bremer to maintain the
Shia-Sunni balance in the government.
Mr
Badran, a Shia Muslim, said he had been told that the
US-led administration believed the defence minister and
interior minister should not both be Shia. A new defence
minister's position was created this month and filled by
a Shia official.
However,
critics will point to the fact that Mr Badran may have
been forced to leave because the Iraqi police forces he
controls have proved wholly ineffective in the face of
sustained attacks by insurgents.

BBC accused of bias against Israel
Report on would-be suicide bomber labelled anti-semitic
Chris McGreal in JerusalemThursday April 1, 2004
The Guardian
http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,1183300,00.html
The Israeli government has written to the BBC accusing its Middle East
correspondent, OrlaGuerin, of anti-semitism and
"total identification with the goals and methods of
the Palestinian terror groups" over a report on a
16-year-old would-be suicide bomber last week.Natan
Sharansky, Israel's minister for diaspora affairs,
complained that Guerin had portrayed the army's handling
of the arrest of Hussam Abdu, who was captured with
explosives strapped to his chest, as "cynical
manipulation of a Palestinian youngster for propaganda
purposes". He said this revealed "a deep-seated
bias against Israel".In her report on Hussam Abdu
last week, Guerin noted Israel's desire to gain a public
relations advantage from the arrest. She described how
the army "paraded the child in front of the
international media"The BBC said it was looking into the
complaint....The Israeli minister also protested at
Guerin's conclusion, as the youth was forced to stand
forlornly alone at the checkpoint solely for the
photographers, that "this is a picture that Israel
wants the world to see"..........But the letter
comes as several foreign news organisations complain of
increasing government pressure to curtail critical
coverage or to report stories Israel believes help
identify the Palestinian conflict with global Islamist
terrorism. The Tel Aviv press has called for the
expulsion of correspondents from Sky, the Times and
several French papers for failing to cover a story the
government mobilised embassies worldwide to get into the
media last month.

.United Nations stop food supply to Gaza
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency
for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced Thursday it
stopped distributing emergency food aid to some 600,000
refugees in the Gaza Strip.
UNRWA said in a statement that the suspension followed
restrictions introduced by Israel on the sole commercial
crossing into Gaza through which it is able to bring in
humanitarian assistance. The agency said it had now
completely run out of stocks of rice, flour, cooking oil
and other essential products.
"Under normal circumstances, UNRWA delivers some 250
tons of food aid per day in Gaza alone as part of a wider
program of emergency assistance to refugees, initiated
shortly after the outbreak of strife in the West Bank and
Gaza Strip in September 2000," the statement said.
Almost two out of three households in Gaza live below the
poverty line and more than half its workforce is
unemployed.
UNRWA said it urged Israel to loosen its restrictions in
Gaza in a joint statement with other UN agencies on
March, but thus far without success.

higgs boson - the particle that god had ?
Dr Renton cites indirect evidence taken from
observations of the behaviour of other particles in
colliders that agrees with the figure of 115
gigaelectronvolts for the mass of the Higgs boson.
"It's controversial. The data is possibly
indicative, but it needs confirmation," said Bryan
Webber, professor of theoretical physics at the
University of Cambridge. "Its mass is right at the
maximum energy they could run the [LEP] at. But the
indirect indications are that the Higgs boson should be
close to that value."
Mass giver Physicists have observed 16 particles
that make up all matter under the Standard Model of
fundamental particles and interactions. But the sums do
not quite add up for the Standard Model to be true if
these particles are considered alone. If only 16
particles existed, they would have no mass -
contradicting what we know to be true in nature. Another
particle has to give them this mass. Enter the Higgs
boson, first proposed by University of Edinburgh
physicist Peter Higgs and colleagues in the late 1960s.
Their theory was that all particles acquire their mass
through interactions with an all-pervading field, called
the Higgs field, which is carried by the Higgs boson.
The Higgs' importance to the Standard Model has led some
to dub it the "God particle".
U.S.A. AND ISRAEL
The United States will assure Israel that it will
not have to withdraw to the Green Line in a future
permanent settlement with the Palestinians. The promise
appears in a letter of guarantees drafted by the American
administration in exchange for Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon's disengagement
plan........................The American draft also says
the Palestinian refugees will be able to return to a
future Palestinian state, which will be established in
keeping with President George Bush's vision. This wording
will partially meet Israel's demand that the U.S. declare
its objection to the right of return, which the
Palestinians insist on.Two principles guided the
administration in drafting the letter of guarantees to
Israel - support for the disengagement plan and providing
answers for Sharon's political needs, and refraining from
taking political or legal undertakings which could tie
the U.S.'s hands in the future and hinder its contacts
with its friends in the Arab world and Europe. The
Americans do not want Egypt and other countries to
pressure them to give counter guarantees to the
Palestinians.
Israel is also asking for public American recognition of
the separation fence route, after it agreed to put off
building the problematic section of the fence near Ariel
and putting up an intermittent fence in the
"enclaves" opposite Ben-Gurion Airport and
along Road 443............................Sharon said
that in exchange for the disengagement, the U.S. will
state in writing that it is against any plan that
endangers Israel, that "does not condition progress
on eliminating terror."Sharon said the withdrawal
from Gaza would "deprive the Palestinians of the
historic excuse that the Israeli presence is preventing
them from acting against terror."

Subject: MR. SILIS MUHAMMAD'S LETTER TO THE GRASSROOTS
(March 2004)
Sun, 28 Mar 2004 09:18:45 -0500 (EST)
I have just returned from the United Nations in
Geneva, Switzerland. With the help of some human rights
experts, we have been uniting with our Brothers and
Sisters in Latin America and forging the way to
Reparations for all of us who have come up from slavery.
During this trip to the United Nations in Geneva,
Switzerland, I saw that we cannot just sashay into the
U.N. and hope to gain our freedom with just words.
The experts there have been fighting for us since the
first time we came to them some twelve years ago.
They have fought for us against the American government
and other governments, and they are doing all they can
do. We have won the word battle and now the battle
has escalated. Governments have begun to hold back
money because we have gained so much ground. The
experts have made plans for a U.N. seminar for us, the
Afrodescendants, in Brazil. This seminar is what we
prayed for the U.N. to do and they are willing to do it,
but there is no money to pay for it. I have pledged
$30,000 of the $60,000 it will take to pull off the
seminar.
Men who desire their freedom either fight and
bleed and die with a gun or they fight and bleed with
money. The experts are looking at us and saying,
"Are you going to battle or not?" We have
to use either a gun or money. Now it is time for us
to put up or shut up. The U.N. has come to me for
help and I have pledged money to the U.N. to pay half of
the cost of this seminar. Will you help me fight
this battle?

Mr. Silis Muhammad is the Chairman of AFRE, All For
Reparations And Emancipation (http://www.AllForReparations.org). His interventions before diverse U.N.
bodies, including the Human Rights Commission, have
documented in detail how long-term and current U.S.
government policies of ethnocide and forced assimilation
against our people blatantly violate U.N.
Covenants. To learn how you can make the upcoming
seminar in Brazil a reality, please visit our

concern that Syria is being targetted:
........Gary Leupp is
Professor of History at Tufts University, and Adjunct
Professor of Comparative Religion..............
Let us say Perle's dream
comes true and the Israeli air force does attack
pro-Hamas Syria. Let's say it does so big-time,
Sharon-style, and does major damage. Enough to cause
enough disorder for the U.S. to argue that a
deteriorating situation requires international
intervention. The Iraq attack required months of
preparation, but intervention in Syria will happen very
quickly, coming like a thief in the night as it did in
Haiti. Perle has suggested that there are troops to spare
in Iraq that can occupy "weak" Syria in short
order. Even if Israeli action provides the context,
Israeli forces won't be needed, and U.S. action will be
lent some thin international legitimacy if a few hundred
"coalition" troops participate. Thus a second
Arab nation will become Americanizedly "free,"
while Palestinians infuriated by these events will commit
acts that will justify the "ethnic cleansing"
of the West Bank.
I truly hope my imagination has gotten the better of me,
that I am a false prophet, and that what I describe will
not come to pass.

HAVE ANY ILLUSIONS ABOUT JOHN KERR'S DEMOCRATS.....
Representative Gary Ackerman (D-NY) led a group of

writing to President Bush to express their dismay at
White House criticism of Israel's actions. The Democratic

The President
The White House
Washington, DC
Dear Mr. President:
We call on you to
immediately repudiate the statement made yesterday by
your spokesman, Scott McClellan that "the United
States is deeply troubled by this morning's action in
Gaza." That your spokesman would condemn Israel
bringing to justice a terrorist thug at the same time
U.S. forces are in the field hunting down terrorist
leaders is incomprehensible.
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin
was a barbaric terrorist leader and has deserved for many
years the fate he met yesterday. HAMAS, a terrorist group
designated by the State Department, has been an active
enemy of United States diplomacy for more than a decade
and the demise of its one of its top leaders should
certainly not be condemned. HAMAS has actively sought the
collapse of the peace process, remains fervently
committed to the destruction of the State of Israel, and
has proudly declared its responsibility for the
deliberate murder of hundreds of Israeli citizens.
For your spokesman
to suggest anything other than full support for Israel's
action is simply deplorable. Mr. McClellan's statement is
intolerable and should be corrected immediately.
Sincerely,
Rep. Gary L.
Ackerman
