From the incredible debris of the Internet we collect more and more facts substantiating conspiracy theory and indeed, as the scientist collects his tools from theories, we are surely going to have to do the same in order to vallidate any votes for democracy in the future. But where is humanity going to find the individuals, men and women, who can be given a mandate for government which supports our trust ? The conspiracy theories are written by investigating journalists, probably black-listed from mainstream media outlets. What promotes Noam Chomsky, Robert Fisk,John Pilger et al into the mainstream ? We have just had a visit in Dublin from Greg Pallast, whose name is certainly well known now ; but the mainstream newspapers declined to interview him and sofar as I know he was only otherwise heard on RTE early morning broadcast. His message was certainly strong and clear, as a neighbour of mine meeting me shortly afterwards told me she was gong straight out to buy his book. A book from whose sale in Ireland Pallast is donating 5euros per copy to the Student's Union in the National Art College to enable them set up a series of political lectures for the students and the general public. It would perhaps be helpful if online journals could give out a news-breakdown at the theoretical level and issue them as news briefs for Student Union notice boards in each Education Centre, University etc.quite regularly. Would Robert Fisk and others agree to submit such material which could supplement the meagre news analyses available ? Believing that this would be a useful idea I am making some enquiries. |
